Join our audit innovation lab and you will work with our assurance teams and world-class clients to leverage leading edge technologies to find creative, technology driven solutions to our everyday client work, and where you will feel and see your impact.

As an Applications Systems Engineer, you’ll be joined by an entrepreneurial team of multidisciplinary professionals in role which focuses on the development of next-gen, cloud-based data platform that will enable the audit professionals, and data specialists in collecting, combining, and exploration of data to create insights that support our clients with their decision-making processes. You will improve our clients’ data integrity and quality to allow for more reliable reports and insights within the accounting, finance, governance and regulatory space and pursue automation in the process to create efficiencies.

Your key responsibilities

Integrating emerging technologies to enhance audit service delivery quality, solving business/client challenges through technology.
Building user-centered applications, combining business knowledge with technology experience to build automation and analytic solutions with a focus on the financial services industry.

Performing full life-cycle software development using agile framework including delivery and integration with other systems and applications in a cloud-based environment.
As a full-stack engineer, you will get to work on a wide range of new products changing the way engineers do research, share knowledge, design, and build new software.
Overseeing and directing the build of complex software products or systems.
Driving various stages of the development lifecycle, ensuring application/software architecture is aligned to stakeholder requirements.
Creating and/or modifying application delivery process strategy based on industry trends, experience, leading practices, and direction of major players.

Establishing strategy and business case for the integration of multiple applications.
Lead the design of complex integration strategies and plans and the evaluation of complex system integration initiatives and advises on any necessary course corrections.
Developing and maintain long-term business relationships and networks.

Skills and attributes for success
As we continue to build features and integrations within existing applications, our engineering team is hiring talented professionals to contribute to our innovative new data platform. We are hiring experienced and hands-on full stack-engineers who will work on frontend (React and Angular), middle layer logic, (Python) with backend cluster management (Spark).

To qualify for the role you must have

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems Management, Accounting, Finance or a related field
Minimum of 5 years of the following experiences, but will consider less years in experience for strong candidates:

Experience in enterprise integration design patterns, microservices design and development, and middleware platforms including integrations, or application programming interface (API).

3+ years of experience in software development in Python, preferably in conjunction with React.
Experience designing API centric solutions using at least one of the following: representational state transfer (REST), DevOps, Postman or SoapUI
Experience developing schemas and data structures through json objects.

The ability and willingness to travel and work in excess of standard hours when necessary
Access to reliable transportation to/from the EY office and client sites. A driver’s license is strongly recommended as ride share and public transportation options may not be available in all locations

Ideally, you’ll also have

Experience in the entire software development lifecycle (SDLC), including analysis, planning design, development, testing, and deployment.
Experience converting business requirements into application and software design and managing the development lifecycle from configuration to deployment.
Combination of experience with at least 3 of the following:

Experience developing schemas and data structures.

Experience with source control
Hands-on experience using any API integration framework, such as MuleSoft, WSO2 or Apigee
Experience with Azure Pipelines (Cl/CD)
Experience in DevOps and cloud implementations.
Experience implementing security, such as OAuth, SAML (security assertion markup language), single sign-on (SSO), or mobile device management

Object oriented and functional software engineering using JavaScript, AngularJS, CSS, Python, React, Java, or similar.
Experience with back-end web technologies, frameworks and programming languages, such as SQL, RESTful API, JSON, Spark or model-view-controller (MVC).
Experience with various general and high-purpose programming languages, such as PowerShell, Python, C++, C#, Scala, Java, JavaScript, Hive, R, Ajax, or NoSQL technologies

3 years of experience in BI (Business Intelligence) technologies, such as Tableau, Spotfire or Microsoft Power BI

What we offer

We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The salary range for this job in most geographic locations in the US is $88,800 to $162,800. The salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $106,600 to $185,000. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options. Under our flexible vacation policy, you’ll decide how much vacation time you need based on your own personal circumstances. You’ll also be granted time off for designated EY Paid Holidays, Winter/Summer breaks, Personal/Family Care, and other leaves of absence when needed to support your physical, financial, and emotional well-being.
